Top Country Songs in 2012

Every year brings with it a wide variety of changes to the world, the country, and especially to pop culture.  There are new trends in all the time in movies, books, television shows, and especially in music.  One form of music that has evolved and changed greatly over the past ten years even is country music.  It went from being its own entity that had a very select fan base, to a music genre that has become more widely accepted and appreciated.

The question becomes who will have the top new country songs in 2012?  There are many contenders, since there are so many talented singers and groups.  Will the existing artists maintain their hold on the industry, or will there be new artists to crack the elusive top of the country charts? 

Taylor Swift has been a force to reckon with for many years.  She sings songs that are a soulful mix of country with a bit of pop all rolled in.  It has made her a cross-chart sensation that reaches a wide variety of age groups.  Darius Rucker was first known as the lead singer of Hootie and the Blow Fish.  Then he became the first African-American to top the country music charts.  The way he manages to churn out hits, we can expect to see at least one of his songs at the top of the new country songs in 2012. 

Among the groups, there are several that have made an impact on the country music industry.  The group Lady Antebellum has had a number of hit over the last few years that have really resonated with their audience.  And let’s not forget the group Sugarland.  They had a rough year with a horrible accident taking place during one of their concerts where high winds demolished their stage and killed several concert goers while injuring countless others.  2012 should be a year of recovery for them and of healing.

Then there are other country music artists who seem to constantly be at the top of the country music charts so it isn’t so hard to imagine that they will have some of the top new country songs in 2012.  Certainly Toby Keith will have more hits, along with Kenny Chesney.  And this could be another great year for Brad Paisley.  Without a doubt, fans of country music will enjoy the ride as the top country songs of 2012 begin to climb the charts.
